February highlights:
In February, global design activities surged while global sourcing activities took a dip compared to both the previous month and the same period last year.
Design activities experienced a notable uptick of +19% in February, rebounding from a sluggish start in January. This growth was observed across all regions, with a robust year-over-year increase of +16%.
Conversely, global sourcing activities witnessed a decline of -12% in February, in line with seasonal patterns. Buyer engagements reduced across the board, with the APAC region recording the most significant decrease at -21% month-over-month due to the Lunar New Year holiday.
Despite fluctuations, interconnects and passives emerged as the frontrunners in design activity growth, showcasing resilience in demand among buyers compared to both the preceding month and year.
Q1 2024 outlook:
Forecasts for global design activities and global sourcing activities remain steady. We anticipate a modest quarter-over-quarter growth of +2% and +3% respectively.
