At the same time the MCU and MPU Price Index is projected to climb 10.7% in Q2 to 215.2, more than twice the 2020 baseline, then a further 4.6% in Q3 to 225.0. Supplyframe Commodity IQ indicates a 5% STMicroelectronics MCU price increase effective April 26.

Live Findchips results confirm the squeeze is real but uneven. New orders for the popular STM32F103C8T6 carry 30 to 31 week lead times at every major authorized distributor, yet immediate reel stock is still on the shelf at DigiKey and Avnet. NXP i.MX 8M Mini processors are the worst hit, at 30 weeks from NXP direct and 52 to 54 weeks at DigiKey, Avnet, and EBV.
